About CruxPack

What it does

You upload a lecture — a PDF, a PowerPoint deck, or a text or Markdown file — and CruxPack builds a study pack from it: structured notes, active-recall flashcards, open-response practice problems with worked answers, and a condensed cheat sheet. You can also ask questions about the material and get answers grounded in the pages you supplied.

Everything is built from your source. Sections cite the pages they came from, so you can check any claim against the original rather than taking it on faith. Packs export to PDF, Word, Markdown, LaTeX, Anki and CSV, so nothing you make here is trapped here.

Who makes it

CruxPack is a one-person project, built and run by a computer science student at Northeastern University. It is a sole proprietorship operated from Massachusetts, United States — not a company with a team behind it. If something is broken or wrong, you are writing to the person who wrote the code.

What it is not

The output is generated by an AI model reading your file, and it can be wrong. CruxPack runs a quality check over every pack and repairs what it can catch, but a clean check is not a guarantee of correctness. Treat a pack as a study aid built from your source, not as an authority — and verify anything you are going to rely on against the original material.

It is also not a replacement for going to the lecture or reading the chapter. It is meant to make the material you already have faster to review and easier to test yourself on.

Your material

What you upload stays yours. How it is stored, what it is used for, and how to delete it are covered in the Privacy Policy. The demo pack on the home page is built from an openly-licensed textbook — see Attribution for the credit.
